Technology Project Reflections:
EDCI*522*OL1 13/SP TEACH & LEARN 21ST CENTURY CLASSROOM: Spring Semester 2013
I have learned a great deal about technology throughout the process of this class and required final project; this lesson, in particular, took a great deal of time for me to complete. It took days not hours to complete all components, experimentation, and revisions involved. Although completed, I believe each day, as I continue to open it, I will feel compelled to make revisions, additions, and tweak varying components of this thematic unit. As one that also relies on technology to learn, it will be interesting to me to evaluate how my unit is appreciated by different users. One early surprise, because of which I made revisions to font in the way of color and style, was due to a candid peer review who found the many colors and sizes of the font distracting.
I wanted the theme of the unit to be "rainbow," and because I enjoy an artistic side, when designing the unit, I appreciated all the colors and images that could be added to the unit; consequently, I added a great deal of different font colors and sizes, that I , in hind site, realized would be distracting to some. I've really enjoyed learning about each component, although a little frustrating at times, as the development processes and many of the technological tools were very new to me. I believe the greatest challenge,to me, will be the development of the ability to utilize the many technological tools, I'v e acquired ,more efficiently. Because technology is a significant part of the way people learn and communicate, as educational professionals, we would be incompetent to ignore it.
